About The Savage Nutritionist is an online resource on a variety of nutrition science topics.  


Savage technically means "uncivilized".  Here's why it matters in nutrition.  While society connects us all to important resources and industrial advancements, society doesn't always lead us in the best direction for our health.  For example, the over-processing of food filled with salt, chemical preservatives, and excess sugar has lead to the current high rates of chronic disease, like heart disease and diabetes (type II), and has increased the number of overweight individuals to nearly half of all adults in the United States.  Civilization did that. 


Embracing savage in nutrition is about remaining independent in thought and personal lifestyle choices, not just following the crowd.  Growing your own food, buying from socially responsible companies, and eating whole nutritious foods are all a part of obtaining health.
